ANOTHER GO

Running
‘Cause I don't know where to go
I lived here
When I was really small
I can hear the gulls and feel the sand under my feet
Little good is being done as the sun goes down
With the wind

Falling
I'd really like to know
Will my heart
Give it another go
I can still remember all the outbursts
Street lamps set alight
As I was walking home
Through all the summer nights

Give it another go

Give it another go

Give it another go
NOTHING FROM YOU

Thick web hangs over this town
And all the sunbeams got trapped
The local team is on a winning streak
Defenders keep it clean
When they’re not attacked

She sleeps till 12 hundred hours
Writes down all of her dreams

And me
There is nothing I need from you
My only goal is to last
That’s all I wanna do

I drink some leftover coffee
Watching old reruns at night
Another chance for that case to get solved
They’re both completely cold
It serves me right

She sleeps till 12 hundred hours
Writes down all of her dreams

And me
There is nothing I need from you
My only goal is to last
That’s all I wanna do

And me
There is nothing I need from you
My only goal is to last
That’s all I wanna do
MOURNING REVISITED

Such a beautiful morning
Easy being hot in black
All day doing nothing
They judge you just on how you act
So I’m good

I am fine
Setting idle views in line, I am fine

Hearing the void, I don’t step out
I think it’s fine

Such a beautiful morning
Yeah, I don’t think I’ll call you back
Want it all but I pick none
Better keep my form intact
And I am full

I am fine
Hearing the void, I don’t step out
I think it’s fine

Just hearing the void and not stepping out is safe
I’ll be alright

Just hearing the void and not stepping out is safe
I’ll be alright

I’ll be alright
I’ll be alright
I’ll be alright
COATS

Like a distant calling rivers turning to stone
On a cold New Year’s morning we are all alone

In the frozen waters your unsettled face
How many dollars would you bet on this race

This time I’m leaving
I’m not singing along
If only I had words to fill out this form

This time I’m
If only I

All the roads we’ve known are gone
No more coats and no more home
All the roads we’ve known are gone

Like a distant calling rivers turning to stone
On a cold New Year’s morning we are all alone

This time I’m leaving
I’m not singing along
If only I had words to fill out this form

This time I’m
If only I
All the roads we’ve known are gone
No more coats and
no more home
All the roads we’ve known are gone
This time I’m
If only I
DESPERATE DISCO

Ring me up I know it’s time
For me to deal with broken charm
You try to cast over me
What kind of bitch you want me to be

Ring me up

Ring me up I know it’s time
For me to deal with broken charm
You try to cast over me
What kind of bitch you want me to be

I don’t give a fuck about your
Plans the different ways you’re gonna
Shine project your self out of my
Space it’s personal blah blah blah

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah

I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough
I’ve had
NO NEED TO DIE

Tide passing by, hold on tight,
there’s no need to die
Burning alive, no more time,
find a place to hide
I like to stand and stare,
let in some air and do nothing
It’s ok to wait through the day,
it will happen anyway

You are a piece of my broken spine
I’m barely alive
I’m barely alive
but I can confide in you

I really wish I could tell you
it’s not all that bad
Bunch of excuses thrown
on the floor from the night we had
In the morning light even more
crumbled and somewhat bleak
Let us just pick it all up
and make up some sleep
I really wish I could tell
you it’s not all that bad

You are a piece of my broken spine
I’m barely alive
I’m barely alive
but I can confide in
you
are a piece of my broken spine
I’m barely alive
I’m barely alive
DON’T STOP (JAZXING REMIX)
DON’T STOP

Don’t stop till you drop
Give me a break or faith
Constant energy
Giving me pain, no aim

Where does it say
Where does it say

Go on like this
I’ll never miss a chance to be
I haven’t seen the world too much
How long, keep on
Running around in shapes and still
I haven’t seen the world too much

Forward moving up
Give me a rope or hope
Grow out to the ground
I do what I want, or not

Where does it say
Where does it say

Go on like this
I’ll never miss a chance to be
I haven’t seen the world too much
How long, keep on
Running around in shapes and still
I haven’t seen the world too much
SCRATCH AND DEPLOY

I miss my girl
But i’m too drunk to call
Delirious
I didn’t sleep at all
I see spiders
Crawling down the wall

Oh how i hate to be
someone i hate to be
Poor old me

I whine all day
Staring at the floor
I heard the bell once
Couldn’t move at all
I watch my phone
But I also watch the door

Oh how i hate to be
someone i hate to be
Poor old me

SKUNKS

God how it sucks to be working class full-time, half living wage
Spilling your guts in some bullshit job, you got a kid and bills to pay

And a cat and a dog or a fish or whatever, 'cause everyone needs some love after a long long day
Find the time to invest, to unstress, ain’t it funny, for what is the point it’s Monopoly money

I’m growing old, I’m growing tired, price of gas keeps growing higher
Hands are shaking, heart is too, give it time to heal

The night is hollow and getting cold
Let's pull out claws, find a den and crawl

Crawl inside to feel some guilt together for not being strong enough to make it seem better
Crawl inside to feel some guilt together for not being strong enough to make it seem better

Hands are shaking, heart is too, give it time to heal
Hands are shaking, heart is too, give it time to heal
NO DRAMA, NO DISCO

Clear skies - no disco, no drama
No intentions, expectations, no tomorrow
Ride or die, but not tonight

Blind bet, I’d never drive us too far
To feed one wolf and let the other one starve
Words do harm to what we are

How hesitation
Somewhat escalated
I don’t even know anymore
But I kinda went big
Now I guess I should go home
I’m leaving by the back door
Kinda went big
Now I guess I should go home
Leaving by the back door

Clear skies - no disco, no drama
No intentions for a no tomorrow
Ride or die, not tonight

How hesitation
Somewhat escalated
I don’t even know anymore
I kinda went big
So I guess I should go home
Leaving by the back door
Kinda went big
Now I guess I should go home
Leaving by the back door

INTO DUST
Songwriters: Hope Sandoval / David Roback

Still falling
Breathless and on again
Inside today
Beside me today
Around broken in two
Till your eyes shed
Into dust
Like two strangers
Turning into dust
Till my hand shook
With the way I fear
I could possibly be fading
Or have something more to gain
I could feel myself growing colder
I could feel myself under your fate
Under your fate
It was you
Breathless and tall
I could feel my eyes turning into dust
And two strangers
Turning into dust
Turning into dust
ERIKA

3rd Avenue jetlag
I don’t want to meet anyone or see anything
I should do something fun I think
Instead I’m cruising through different pharmacies
Trying out creams
Looking at magazines
I could do this forever
It’s pointless
I’m restless
I’m dead
Whatever

I really felt the that the only way for me to sleep is if I was holding onto something

I think about the girl
First woman on mars, what’s her name
The one that’s being trained
For no dependency
Full-time heart vacancy
Full-time heart vacancy
Full vacancy
Full-time heart vacancy

I really felt the that the only way for me to sleep is if I was holding onto something

The band was established in the Summer of 2018 and released their EP under the name “Alpha Females” in the Fall of the same year. There were four musicians in the group then, and this first album included four songs – each in a slightly different musical style. The release was an experiment aimed at verifying the final tone of the band, and ended in half-success, since the specific sound of the band became defined much later, with the addition of new instruments (cello and keys) to an otherwise standard rock ensemble.

Unexpected, yet very rewarding results of publishing the EP included enthusiastic reactions from the local music community, which in turn led to invitations to participate in music festivals and concerts and a nomination for the Pomeranian Storms Award 2018 in the category of “Discovery of the Year in Culture”.

The finding of own sound and the presence of new musicians inspired the group to change its name to a shorter and fiercer: Alfah Femmes. The band strongly recommends other bands not to change their name, especially those at the beginning of their activity, and even more so those who have already collected first positive reviews under their original name. This is an objectively dumb move. However sometimes being dumb just feels too good, like writing songs in a shaky economic reality or spontaneous changes in the names of newly formed bands. So probably because of that, the first LP “No need to die”, released by the band Alfah Femmes on Oct 24th 2020, contains a couple cover songs of the little known band “Alpha Females” which disappeared faster than it emerged, somewhere at the turn of 2018-2019.

What’s in a name? The first songs were already written when Zofia and Przem were flipping ideas for potential inexistent bands and album titles, driving across Poland in an old Dodge Caravan. This popular summer road trip game gave life to the bands final brand – a nod to Violent Femmes, The Australian band “Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males”, the Riot Grrrl movement, and at the same time – a dare to participate in contemporary feminist discourse.

Eksperymentem zakończonym pół-sukcesem, bo właściwy sound wyklarował się znacznie później, wraz z dołączeniem do typowo gitarowego zestawu nowych instrumentów (wiolonczela i klawisze).

Z tej popularnej, letniej gry podróżnej wyłoniła się ostateczna nazwa zespołu – ukłon w stronę Violent Femmes, australijskiego zespołu Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males, nurtu Riot Grrrl, a jednocześnie prowokacja do uczestnictwa we współczesnym dyskursie feministycznym.
